Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Irmo police have identified a man they say led them on a car chase Tuesday morning.
Officers say they want to find Quintin Lafayette Garrett of Columbia.
Garrett is accused of driving under suspension, failure to stop for blue lights and seatbelt violation.
Irmo Police Chief Brian Buck says around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, an officer tried to pull over a Mitsubishi Gallant on Lake Murray Boulevard. However, once the officer got out of the car, Buck says the suspect drove off.
The officer pursued Garrett on Lake Murray Boulevard, Broad River Road, Zimelcrest Drive, Interstate 26, Interstate 20, and Highway 277, where officers say Garrett abandoned his vehicle between mile markers 3 and 4.
Officers searched a nearby wooded area for him, but did not find him.
