Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- There are lots of things going on this weekend across the Midlands and if you are looking to build or improve your home, the South Carolina State Fairgrounds may be your place.
The 47th annual Carolina Classic Home and Garden Show is taking place this weekend bringing nearly 300 exhibitors together in one place.
"It is one-stop shopping, everything under the roof for the home, we have it right here at the home show," according to Earl McLeod, Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia.
McLeod says home shows like this help businesses and the consumers, especially now that the economy seems to be improving.
McLeod said, "Things do appear to be better, the trend is certainly up from a fairly horrible year in 2011, this year appears to be a better start than 2012, so we are encouraged."
Jimmy Derrick, President of Coldwell Banker agrees with McLeod's assessment.
Derrick said, "There is a better attitude now among buyers, buyers seem to be a little more interested in making purchases."
This home show is not just about buy and selling homes, there just about everything you can image here, from beds to bird feeders, to shower heads and bath tubes that you can sink your smart phone to.
McLeod said, "Just about anything you can imagine for the home, we got it right here."
The weather this weekend is just icing on the cake according to McLeod, who expects a big turn out on Saturday and Sunday.
"Come on out for the seminars for the fair food, for the exhibits, it is just a great opportunity to have a great time," said McLeod.
The show continues Saturday 9 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM.
Admission is $6 per person, parking is $2 per car, and children under 14 under are admitted free.
