Alex Rodriguez arrives at Joe Riley Park in Charleston
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Alex Rodriguez says he'll likely need all 20 rehabilitation games allowed to work back into playing shape before returning to the Yankees. And he is confident he'll be back this season.
The injured third baseman is set to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday night with the minor league Charleston RiverDogs. Rodriguez was working out at the Yankees spring training complex in Florida as he recovered from left hip surgery last January. He was cleared this week to start playing in games. Rodriguez is scheduled to play three innings at third base and said before batting practice that he plans to play in Wednesday night's game with Rome, too.
