Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - A Lexington County woman has been arrested after deputies say she caused injuries to a two month old girl, including fracturing the child's skull.
Amberly B. Lomax, 22, is charged with inflicting great bodily injury upon a child. A judge gave her a $175,000 bond.
Deputies say on September 22nd, the child was brought to the hospital because of several inuries. When doctors examined her, they say they found a skull fracture, 13 rib fractures, and a fractured clavicle.
Investigators believe the child suffered the injuries between June 29th and September 22nd of this year.
Officers say Lomax was responsible for caring for the girl when she was hurt. According to deputies, Lomax could not explain to detectives how the girl was repeatedly injured.
The child is now in the protective custody of the Department of Social Services. She is expected to fully recover.
