MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - The annual fall biker rally is getting underway this week along South Carolina's Grand Strand.
Organizers tell The Sun News of Myrtle Beach (http://bit.ly/1bW8FeO ) they hope the trend of more bikers attending the spring biker rallies carries over into the weeklong fall event.
Tourism researcher Taylor Damonte of Coastal Carolina University says he expects room occupancy to be between 65 and 70 percent this week on the Grand Strand.
One of the highlights of this week's event is Cruise the Loop, a 90-mile poker run for bikers.
But the Grand Strand is not busy just because of the rally. Fall is also a popular time for golf vacations.
