Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Connor Shaw won't just play Saturday for the Gamecocks, he's expected to start the game. Coach Steve Spurrier told reporters after Wednesday's practice that Shaw was throwing the ball very well and would be the starter.
Spurrier said he originally thought Shaw may have been done for the year, after he went down in the game against Central Florida. The Head Ball Coach told reporters that doctors have cleared Shaw and he'll get the start.
Dylan Thompson is also expected to see playing time Saturday. Spurrier says he'll likely go in on the third or fourth possession.
Kickoff against Kentucky is at 7:30.
