Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have arrested three people who they say may have forced a 15-year-old girl to become a prostitute.
Officers arrested 25-year-old Tavia Singleton, 28-year-old Marc Powell, and 23-year-old Jerome Walker.
Singleton and Powell are both charged with prostitution of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, while Walker is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
The arrests come after they began an undercover operation to find the 15-year-old girl. According to officers, the girl left her home on October 24th and hadn't been heard from since.
After finding her, investigators determined that the girl may have been a victim of human trafficking, and was being "unduly influenced" to become a prostitute.
Richland County Sheriff's Leon Lott says there could be other victims out there. He's asking anyone with information to call the Richland County Special Victims Unit at 803-576-3115 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
