Greensboro, NC (WLTX) -- Heisman hopeful Clemson sophomore quarterback Tajh Boyd was named Offensive Back of the Week for the ACC, with teammates defensive end Kortnei Brown and offensive lineman Landon Walker named position Players of the Week as well.
The three Clemson Tigers were awarded for their efforts against North Carolina (5-3, 1-3) in Death Valley, trouncing the Tar Heels, 59-38.
Boyd boasted a tough 367 passing yards, making 27 of 46 passes, which led to five touchdowns to five different receivers and a rushing touchdown. Boyd tied a Clemson record set by Woody Dantzler in 2001 against NC State with his six touchdowns, which also happened to be an Atlantic Coast Conference record as well.
The Hampton, VA native has tied for most touchdown passes in the nation at 24, with Boise State's Kellen Moore, and could shatter a Clemson season record of 27 next week in Atlanta against Georgia Tech.
Brown pitched in with two defensive touchdowns, a first half pick-six, and a second half game deciding fumble pickup for a sprint to the end zone. It was the first time a defensive end has scored twice in 57. Brown's second touchdown added to the profitable third quarter for the Orange and Purple, stacking up 35 points to the Heels' seven.
Walker notched five knockdown blocks in 82 snaps. During his time on the offensive line, the Tiger quarterbacks threw the ball 46 times and did not allow a sack.
