Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Higher Education Subcommittee will see proposed legislation requiring USC and Clemson to meet on the football field every year.
S.C. House Representative Nathan Ballentine has proposed the bill in response to the recent college football conference realignments, with schools shifting from one to another.
Ballentine's proposed legislation "gives both universities legislative backing if/when they face future pressure to change schedules to accommodate outside entities instead of the wishes of our state."
Rep. Ballentine offers a complete explanation of his proposal on his blog.
Wednesday's reading by the House Higher Education Subcommittee will then decide whether or not to send it along to the State Education Committee and House Floor.
