Columbia, SC (WLTX) - USC starting quarterback Connor Shaw has been named to the watch list for the Davey O'Brien Award.
The O'Brien award is given annually to the nation's top quarterback. In addition to Shaw, 33 other quarterbacks were named to the list.
Shaw, a junior, started nine games last season and won eight of those contest. He passed for 1,671 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also rushed for 690 yards and eight touchdowns.
The watch list recognizes players expected to have a big season and to be in contention for the trophy, which will be handed out on December 6.
