Blythewood, SC (WLTX) --- Last week, Eddie Hargett was competing in the Champions Tour major in Lake Orion, Michigan.
Hargett failed to make the cut at the U.S. Senior Open, but he said he gained a lot of experience by watching the professionals manage their way around a tough golf course.
He also said the whole process of qualifying and then competing in a major taught him a lot about handling that kind of pressure.
Those lessons were put to use immediately as Hargett was in an intense battle with Lexington's Jordan Sease for the Midlands Chevy Dealers City Golf Championship. In the end, it was the veteran coming out on top with a three-day total of 10-under par, good enough for a two-shot win.
Both Hargett and Sease shot a final round of 5-under par.
Jonathan Mathias and former champion Brent Roof finished tied for third, five shots back of Hargett who won his first City Golf Championship.
