Injury to Sideline USC Basketball Player for 6 Months

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - USC redshirt sophomore Carlton Geathers will be out for at least six months, athletics officials announced Monday.

Geathers, a forward on the men's basketball team, sustained a right kneecap fracture which requires surgery. Geathers suffered the injury in a summer pro-am league game in Columbia on Thursday, July 19.

Geathers played in 28 games with one start during his redshirt-freshman campaign of 2011-12. He averaged 1.0 point, 1.5 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 7.8 minutes per contest.
