LONDON (WLTX) - Former Gamecock Lashinda Demus has advanced to the finals for the women's 400-meter hurdles at the Olympics.
Demus won her semifinal heat monday in 54.08 seconds.
She was a hurdler for the Gamecocks during the early part of the last decade and trained under Coach Curtis Frye.
Demus is one of three Americans who qualified for final, a race that will be held Wednesday.
