COLUMBIA, S.C. - A match that seemed destined for a scoreless draw ended in a golden goal with 28 seconds remaining in double overtime as Clemson (4-1-0) defeated South Carolina, 1-0, Saturday night at Stone Stadium.
The ninth-largest women's soccer crowd in Stone Stadium history of 1,633 was on hand in a match that the two rivals played dead even on the stat sheet for 110 minutes before Clemson's Liska Dobberstein took a deflected pass eight yards out and slotted past goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo for the victory.
The Gamecock (2-2-1) loss ended a four-match winning streak against the Tigers and was just the second overtime match in the history of the series.
