Marcus Lattimore (Jeff Blake-US PRESSWIRE)
GamecockCentral.com --- USC running backs coach Everette Sands said that he spoke with Lattimore earlier on Wednesday and that the junior was doing fine.
He also offered a glimpse at Lattimore's surgery. USC has been tight-lipped on the severity of it and what exactly has to happen going forward, but Sands shone some light on it. He said that Lattimore had all of his damaged ligaments repaired during his surgery a week ago, and that he will not need any more procedures.
"No, he will not," Sands said. "He's doing OK. I saw him yesterday. He's already started his rehab. Seems like his spirits are up, which is good."
Sands didn't offer any kind of timetable for Lattimore's eventual return, and also didn't say if he and Lattimore had discussed what the future holds. The important thing is for Lattimore get healthy, and then see when that is - the calendar may decide if Lattimore wants to come back to USC, or perhaps look at the NFL.
