Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- South Carolina erased a 14-point deficit to force overtime and eventually came out on top over Drexel 58-55 Wednesday night at Colonial Life Arena.
Ashley Bruner knocked in a bucket in the extra period to give the Gamecocks the go-ahead lead. Aleighsa Welch cashed in on a free throw to secure her fourth double-double of the season. Tiffany Mitchell led USC with 14 points. 12 of her total came in the second half. The Gamecocks are now 8-0 on the season, which is the program's best start since 2002-03.
South Carolina travels to Seton Hall for a 2 p.m. matchup on Sun., Dec. 2, before taking a week off for exams. The Gamecocks will be back at Colonial Life Arena on Sun., Dec. 9, to take on Furman.
