Clemson, SC (WLTX) --- Irmo's Jordan Roper arrived at Clemson as an undersized guard and while he still gives up some height and pounds to opposing players, that has not stopped him from being a contributor for the Tigers.

Roper is averaging nearly 20 minutes of playing time through the first 13 games of the season. In Saturday's loss to Florida State, Roper scored 11 points in 23 minutes of action.

Heading into Tuesday night's game at top-ranked Duke, Jordan has started four of the 13 games and he is currently fifth on the team in scoring, average 6.8 points per game.

However, defense is one area where Roper is behind. Head coach Brad Brownell says Roper's offensive skills are well-ahead of his defense, although Roper adds that he is constantly working to be a better player on that end of the court.

Away from the court, Roper has had an easier transition. He posted a 3.6 grade point average in the fall semester, second-highest on the team.
