Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- Glenforest basketball coach William Knopf might have the toughest pair of feet in Columbia.

The coach walked nine miles in his barefoot on a cool Friday afternoon as part of his 4th Annual Barefoot Walk to raise awareness for the Samaritan's Feet organization which provides shoes to needy children around the world.

Knopf has been the driving force behind that effort in the Midlands and he was joined on his walk by a number of friends in the basketball community including USC's Dawn Staley and her staff and Ridge View coach John Combs.

Knopf's walk started at Britton's on Devine Street and it featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott. The walk ended at Glenforest School in West Columbia.
