Lexington HS Wins 'Cat Fight, First Wrestling Title

Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- After 2012 4A wrestling state final, Lexington High School looked to finally get over the hump. Saturday at Dreher High School, they finally did as they clinched their first wrestling title.

The second-ranked Wildcats beat top-ranked Rock Hill Bearcats 36-21 in the 4A title match. Lexington had a 27-21 lead and both teams needed a win. In the match between Lexington's Andrew Carnes and Rock Hill's Cameron Bell, fans recieved their money's worth.

The two went scoreless into the final period. Carnes earned a point with an escape then another two after a takedown to win his match 3-1. Carnes' win propelled the Wildcats to their first wrestling state title.
