(WLTX) --- The weeks after the end of spring practice is when college coaches hit the road to visit with fans throughout the state and Thursday saw Steve Spurrier and Dabo Swinney both headlining their school's respective fan-friendly events.
In Florence, USC's Fan Fest made a stop in the Pee Dee with both Spurrier and head basketball coach Frank Martin interacting with fans and giving the audience an update on their respective programs.
Spurrier told a media gathering his team has a good chance for another good season in part because of the high-character players in the lockerroom.
Spurrier is entering his ninth season at USC and will begin the fall as the school's all-time winningest coach. He is the only coach to hit the 11-win barrier at USC, having reached that mark the last two seasons which have been capped off by a pair of bowl wins. The 2012 season also saw USC finish with the highest final rankings in school history (7th/USA Today, 8th AP).
In Columbia, the Prowl-N-Growl Tour made a stop at an event hosted by the Lexington County Clemson Club.
Swinney was joined by head basketball coach Brad Brownell. The two men were busy with the Sharpies and posing for pictures.
Swinney is entering his fifth season as head coach after the school's first 11-win season since the 1981 national championship season.
