(WLTX) --- Tommy Baldwin's schedule is a tad busier than your typical NASCAR owner.

Baldwin owns two Sprint Cup teams that compete each week on NASCAR's top series, but he also serves as the crew chief for one of his cars - the #7 Chevrolet driven by veteran Dave Blaney.

Before he decided to join the ownership ranks, he spent 12 years as a NASCAR crew chief and has been on top of the pit box for five trips to Victory Lane.

Like a number of teams in the garage, Baldwin is working on a tight budget and as a result, he decided to take on the duties of crew chief in an effort to keep his team on more solid financial footing.

The man who has worked with the likes of Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler says he still enjoys working on the cars. However, in a perfect world, Baldwin would hire someone just as competent so he can concentrate on the business side.

Until that day, Baldwin will shift back and forth between carrying a wrench and carrying a briefcase.
