(WLTX) --- Of the eight new names on the USC basketball roster, one person jumps off the page because of what his father has meant to Gamecock basketball.
When Irmo's Justin McKie takes the court this year, he will be following in some famous footsteps. His father, BJ, is the program's all-time leading scorer.
The younger McKie has been immersing himself in basketball this summer - taking part in individual workouts with the USC coaches and competing in the South Carolina Pro-Am, a summer league that brings college and professional players with in-state ties together for an intense six weeks of high-caliber basketball.
Martin believes McKie has all the tools to be a relentless defender on the perimeter which is critical to the fast tempo Martin wants his teams to known for, in addition to being physicially and mentally tough.
