Lexington, SC (WLTX) --- Lexington Mayor Randy Halfacre called Friday night a "litmus test" to gauge the interest of Blowfish baseball in that area of the Midlands.
The Columbia Blowfish packed up their gear and made the trip to the Lexington Sports Complex where players conducted a free clinic to area Dixie Youth Baseball players.
The team then held a seven-inning intra-squad exhibition game which saw head coach Jonathan Johnson pitching for both teams. The former Major League pitcher more than held his own.
With a good crowd turning out for the game, the question becomes would Lexington be a good home for the Blowfish who are in their last season at historic Capital City Stadium.
While nothing official has been decided, the turnout Friday night did give Blowfish and Lexington officials something to ponder going forward.
