Hoover, AL (WLTX) - USC has been picked to finish third overall in the SEC this upcoming season, and Jadeveon Clowney has been selected to the league's first team in a vote taken by sports journalists at SEC Media Days.

The three-day event concluded Thursday morning with the announcement of the preseason forecast and teams. The SEC said it had a record 243 voters for this year's survey. Previous Coverage: Spurrier Says He Won't Get Burned Out | Clowney Confident, Ready for Season

Overall, USC was picked to finish third in the league (18 votes), behind Alabama (182 votes) and Georgia (38 votes). South Carolina was also picked to finish second in the Eastern Division behind Georgia.

To the surprise of no one, USC's Jadeveon Clowney made the defensive first team with 223 votes, by far the most of any other player on either the offensive or defensive team. (Still--20 people didn't vote for him?) Related Coverage: Jadeveon Clowney Wins Best Play ESPY

Tight end Rory Anderson was picked for the offensive second team, and offensive lineman A.J. Cann made the third team. Bruce Ellington made the first team and second team specialist squad--one selection for all-purpose, the other as a returner.

Here is the full list of teams and orders of finish:
