Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Connor Shaw and Tajh Boyd were named to the watch list for the Manning Award Friday.
South Carolina's senior quarterback and two-time SEC Offensive Player of The Week, Shaw led the Gamecocks to post an 11-2 record last season. In the 2012-2013 season Shaw set a school record with a 67.5% completion rate.
Clemson Tiger Tajh Boyd also made the list. The 2012 All-American posted a 67.2% completion rate in the last season, leading the Tigers to an 11-2 record for the first time since 1981.
Three other SEC players, Johnny Manziel-Texas A&M, Aaron Murray-Georgia, AJ McCarron-Alabama, are also on the Manning watch list.
Created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl honoring the college careers of Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning, it's the only quarterback award that includes the player's bowl performance in the balloting.
The top 10 finalists will be announced on November 27th, and the winner announcement coming January 8th, 2014.
