Gamecocks Stay Even, Clemson Up One in Coaches Poll

(WLTX) - South Carolina stayed put and Clemson went up one notch in the most recent USA TODAY Coaches Poll.

South Carolina is number 12 in the latest rankings, and Clemson is 4th. Clemson also received one first-place vote.

USC defeated Kentucky Saturday night, while Clemson blew out Syracuse.

Alabama was number one in the survey, followed by Oregon. Ohio State and Stanford round out the top five.

In the Associated Press poll, Clemson is also third, while USC dropped from 13th to 14th.

The Coaches poll is one of the components of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) rankings, which determine who will play in the national championship. The first BCS rankings will be released in a few weeks.
