Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) --- On a day when FAMU could have spoiled Homecoming for South Carolina State, the Bulldog defense pitched a second-half shutout in a 25-21 win Saturday in Orangeburg.
The Rattlers led 22-21 at halftime but the only scoring in the second half was a pair of Nick Belcher field goals which was the difference in the game.
Richard Cue accounted for two of the Bulldogs' three touchdowns. He connected on a 28-yard touchdown pass to Dennis Rowe in the first quarter and scored on a one-yard run in the third.
The other touchdown came on a blocked punt by S.C. State's Mariel Cooper who returned it 25 yards for the score.
The Bulldogs will have a short week as Morgan State will come to Orangeburg for a rare Thursday night game at Dawson Bulldog Stadium.
