Newberry, SC (WLTX) --- The final chapter of Newberry College's 100th season of football has yet to be written after the Wolves earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Newberry (9-2) is in the playoffs for just the second time in school history.

Head coach Todd Knight was an assistant coach at Newberry when that 2006 squad advanced to the second round.

Now as the guy in charge of the Newberry program, Knight will take his guys back to Carson-Newman for a rematch with their SAC rival. It was two weeks ago when the Wolves lost 52-31 at Carson-Newman. But instead of this being a conference game, Saturday's game in Jeffferson City will be the end of the season for one team.

This is the first time Newberry has faced the same opponent twice in one season since the 1956 Palmetto Shrine Bowl which saw Newberry face Lenoir-Rhyne.
