(WLTX) --- The 111th meeting between USC and Clemson will present the home team to do something that has not happened - winning five in a row against the Tigers.
But Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier says that is not a point of emphasis with his team, rather than the usual emphasis on carrying out the assignments and playing at a high level.
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney won his inaugural meeting with the Gamecocks in 2008 - when he was the interim coach.
With a four-game losing streak to the arch-rivals, Swinney admits the losses have hurt. Although Swinney was philosophical in his news conference, saying his ultimate joy comes from his faith, his family and doing the best he can in all walks of life.
Saturday night's meeting will be the first time both teams are ranked in the top 10.
