Lawrenceville, NJ (Sports Network) - Anthony Myles scored a team-high 14
points to pace the Broncs as Rider completed a 72-53 rout of the Siena Saints
in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tilt at Alumni Gymnasium.
Junior Fortunat added 13 points for Rider (7-9, 2-2 MAAC) as it snapped a
five-game losing streak. Nurideen Lindsey contributed 12 points and five
steals while Jonathon Thompson netted 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the
floor.
Rob Poole led Siena (2-13, 0-4) with a game-high 22 points. O.D. Anosike had
his two-game double-double streak snapped as he managed just three points on
1-of-7 shooting from the field to go along with eight rebounds. The Saints'
have now lost 10 games in a row.
Neither side could create too much of a margin on the scoreboard in the early
stages of the game. The Broncs finally produced a 10-3 run to gain control and
held a 32-26 lead at halftime. Siena managed to stay within striking distance
despite making only 28.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the opening 20
minutes.
Thompson and Myles knocked down 3-pointers to open the second half and give
Rider a double-digit advantage, which it maintained by limiting the Saints to
25 percent shooting from the floor in the second half.
The Broncs enjoyed a 38-32 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored Siena,
36-16, in points in the paint.
