44.8 percent to 36.9 percent, as it took a 33-20 advantage into intermission.
The Mountaineers extended their lead to 17 with 8:44 to play in second half
before the Eagles made their improbable comeback, ripping off a 22-5 run to
tie the game with nine seconds remaining on a Reed 3-pointer. A Burgess 3-
point attempt in the waning second did not fall for ASU and the game went to
overtime.
In the extra session, the Eagles took a 62-61 lead with under 30 seconds to
play on a pair of Reed free throws, but Burgess capped the contest with the
game-winning trey on the other end to lift the Mountaineers to the win.
ASU shot just 6-of-18 from 3-point range, but Georgia Southern was an even
worse 3-of-18 from beyond the arc.
