Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Scootie Randall scored 21 points for the
Temple Owls as they downed the Richmond Spiders, 71-64, in an Atlantic 10
Conference matchup at the Liacouras Center.
Randall was 8-of-13 from the floor while knocking down three 3-pointers for
the Owls (14-6, 3-3 A-10), who earned their fourth win in six games. Anthony
Lee was 5-of-6 from the field and had a double-double with 12 points and 13
rebounds while Khalif Wyatt had 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and
two steals.
The Spiders (13-9, 3-4) suffered their second loss in a row and fourth loss in
six games despite a 22-point performance from Darien Brothers, who made good
on five shots from beyond the arc. Kendall Anthony was the only other Richmond
player in double-figure scoring with 10 points off the bench.
After shooting 55.6 percent from the field in the first half, Temple carried a
38-30 lead into the break.
Although the Spiders shot only 37.9 percent from the floor in second half,
they outscored the Owls 34-33. After Richmond tied the game, 61-61, with 7:05
left, Temple closed out the game on a 10-3 run.
The Owls dominated the paint, earning a 34-14 scoring edge while also
outrebounding the Spiders 38-24.
