Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Behind a career-high-tying 24 points from
Bryn Forbes, the Cleveland State Vikings used a second-half surge to dismiss
the Milwaukee Panthers, 88-67, in a Horizon League matchup at the Wolstein
Center.
Forbes, who also netted 24 on Feb. 9 against Valparaiso, shot 9-of-12 from the
field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range for CSU (13-15, 5-9 Horizon), which
snapped a three-game losing streak. Charlie Lee added 20 points and six
assists, while Junior Lomomba pitched in 11 points and five assists off the
bench.
For Milwaukee (6-22, 2-12), Jordan Aaron scored 18 points, Austin Arians had
15 points and Paris Gulley put up 12 points. The Panthers have now lost nine
of their last 10 contests.
Both teams shot well from the field in the first half, with CSU making 51.9
percent of its shot attempts and Milwaukee shooting 55.6 percent. The teams
went into the half knotted up at 37-37.
The Vikings continued their hot shooting after intermission (.529), while
Milwaukee regressed to 44.4 percent, as CSU pulled away for the 21-point
victory.
CSU dominated the rebounding battle, 36-23, and it committed just eight
turnovers compared to 13 for Milwaukee.
