Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Scottie Haralson scored 22 points and James
Woodard added 17, as Tulsa kept its season alive with a 79-72 win over East
Carolina in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament.
The fifth-seeded Golden Hurricane (17-14) scored 54 points in the second half
and used a late 10-0 run to advance to Friday's semifinal against top-seeded
Memphis.
Maurice Kemp had game highs of 24 points and 11 rebounds for the fourth-seeded
Pirates (18-12), whose best finish in conference play ended on a sour note.
Akeem Richmond added 16 points in the loss.
Tulsa trailed at halftime, 30-25 and didn't take its first lead of the second
half until Pat Swilling, Jr. drained a 3-pointer for a 66-65 edge with 2:35
remaining.
The basket started the game-altering swing, as Haralson scored five of the
next seven points for a 73-65 lead with under a minute to go, and the Golden
Hurricane held on from there.
