COLUMBIA, SC - COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Blake Hickman allowed just three hits over six innings, leading the Kannapolis Intimidators over the Columbia Fireflies in a 2-1 win on Sunday.

Hickman (1-1) allowed one run while striking out seven and walking two to pick up the win.

Columbia started the scoring in the first inning. After reaching base on a forceout, Andres Gimenez stole second and then scored on a single by Dash Winningham.

The Intimidators took the lead for good with two runs in the seventh inning. Grant Massey hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Daniel Gonzalez en route to the one-run lead.

Cameron Griffin (0-2) went one inning, allowing two runs and four hits in the South Atlantic League game. Matt Foster retired the side in order for his second save of the season.
