Fireflies Pull Off Comeback

Columbia erases a three run deficit to win 4-3 over Kannapolis.

COLUMBIA, SC - After the all-star break the Columbia Fireflies are trying to get back into that first half groove which put them a half game out of the first half title as they enter the second half of their season. It showed a little bit on Saturday night in a comeback 4-3 win.

Columbia hosted the Kannapolis Intimidators for the game three of their series at Spirit Communications Park. 
 
Kannapolis took advantage in the top of the third. Aaron Schnurbusch intimidates Columbia's Gabriel Llannes a little as his swing goes yard. The two run shot puts the Intimidators up 2-0. They would have a 3-0 lead up until the 7th inning.
 
Columbia would comeback in this one. The Fireflies would  would manufacture four answered runs in the final two innings. 
 
 
Milton Ramos and Tim Tebow both his sacrifice flies to put the Fireflies on the board in the bottom of the seventh. Tebow would ground out in the bottom of the ninth to score Andres Gimenez to tie the game at three all.
 
Then of all things wild pitch wins it for the Fireflies.Three sacrifice plays and a wild pitch propels Columbia to a 4-3 win. Jay Jabs scored the winning run. 
 
The Fireflies will wrap up the series Sunday at 5 pm and Columbia will have a shot to tie the series.
