Four In A Row For Fourth-Ranked South Pointe

South Pointe won its fourth consecutive state championship with a 38-14 victory over Hartsville in the Class 4A contest at Williams-Brice Stadium.

South Pointe made a little history with its 38-14 win over Hartsville.

The Stallions have joined the likes of Byrnes and Dillon as Palmetto State teams who have won four consecutive state championships.

The Stallions defeated Hartsville for the second year in a row to win the Class 4A state championship. It was also the third time in the last four seasons the Stallions have faced the Red Foxes in the finals In 2014, both teams were in Class AAA.

The 20th playoff win in a row gave the school its sixth state championship.

The victory was the final game for Clemson commit Derion Kendrick who was an efficient 14-of-17 passing for 124 yards and three touchdowns. He also recorded 119 yards on the ground with a score. 

With the victory, South Pointe should finish in the top five of USA Today's national rankings. The Stallions came into the contest ranked fourth in the country.
