Columbia, SC (WLTX) - USC honored its record-setting football team Saturday night at the Colonial Life Arena.
During halftime of the men's basketball game against Florida, the team took to center court, where fans had a chance to cheer and Head Coach Steve Spurrier addressed the crowd.
The Gamecocks finished the year with 11 wins, an all-time record for the school.
Spurrier, sporting a cane as he recovers from knee replacement surgery, said he hopes to do some celebrating thanks to his medical procedure.
"I'm gonna be able to jump on the field with the team next year," he joked.
USC Athletics Director Eric Hyman presented Spurrier with a special game ball that lists the team's accomplishments. Spurrier told the crowd that he hopes to add a major one next season: The SEC Championship.
"So when we come out of Atlanta huggin' and high-fivin' that's when we'll know we've hit the promised land," he said.
