Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- Saturday's Super Regional matchup with the Oklahoma Sooners will be the last time Senior pitcher Michael Roth takes the mound at Carolina Stadium.

"This is definitely my final time starting a game at Carolina Stadium...that's kind of surreal," Roth explained.

Earlier in the week, Roth was selected in the ninth round with the 297th pick by the Los Angeles Angels. The two-time captain was also named the 2012 SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

So far this season Roth has 6-1 record with a 2.68 ERA in 16 starts. Roth earned Consensus All-American honors in 2011 and was CollegeBaseballInsider.com's National Player of the Year.

"I couldn't have asked for a better for years here at South Carolina," Roth said.

In his career at South Carolina,  Roth is 23-6. He's made 90 appearances which is second only to teammate Matt Price.
