Liberty football coach Troy Bowe tweeted a picture from the sidelines at Pickens High School Thursday that has many doing a double-take.
Bowe's photo shows an obviously wavy sideline on the field ahead of a JV football matchup with the comment "this is not a joke". Typically the field is painted by crews from the host school. We're not sure who exactly is responsible for this one, though several commenters on Facebook say the regular crew was not there when this field was painted.
The photo had been shared more than two thousand times as of Friday morning. Among the replies on Twitter was a request from ESPN to share the photo. The Greenville News reached out to the Pickens Athletic Department for comment. The following is a response received from Pickens County School District Spokesperson John Eby:
"The athletic departments at Pickens High School and Liberty High School have discussed their concerns about the sideline at the junior varsity game at Pickens on Thursday night. The varsity game between both schools will go on as scheduled tonight at Liberty High School."
