COLUMBIA, SC - Former USC Clarke Schmidt agreed to terms with the New York Yankees. The right handed pitcher signed his rookie deal worth a little over 2.1 million dollars today.
Schmidt was the final Gamecock from this year's draft to sign. Schmidt went on Twitter Saturday night to thank the USC.
The right handed pitcher was selected 16 overall in this year's draft and will join former Gamecocks Jordan Montgomery and Tyler Webb who made his Yankees debut today after being called up. 50 former Gamecocks have now made it to the major leagues.
