Darlington, SC (WLTX) -- The Darlington Raceway will be open on Tuesday for fans, as four NASCAR stars will be testing tires for Goodyear ahead of the Bojangles' Southern 500.
The drivers scheduled to participate are Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, and Ryan Newman.
The test is free and open to the public. The track is opening two sections of the Colvin Grandstands, on the backstretch of the track. Fans will need to use the Gate 3 entrance to the track off Highway 151. The test session will last from 9 am - 5 pm.
"This is a great opportunity for fans to watch some of the top Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers get track time at Darlington Raceway before the Bojangles' Southern 500," Darlington Raceway President Kerry Tharp said.
The tire test is an opportunity for both Goodyear and the drivers to test the tire compound to be used for the Bojangles' Southern 500.
The Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR will be held at Darlington on September 2-3. The NASCAR XFINITY Series race is on Saturday, September 2 and the Bojangles' Southern 500 will be on Sunday, September 3.
