National Champions Ready For The August Grind

The defending national champions opened practice for the 2017 this season. Head coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are moving forward into this season.

We will find out just how superstitious Clemson is when they begin preseason workouts Thursday.

At the first preseason practice of 2016, the song "The Boys Are Back In Town" by the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy was first on the playlist during the stretching portion of practice. The boys are indeed back but this time, they have a national championship in the trophy case.

Clemson will be trying to get back to the title game for the third year in a row. On paper, the question marks are on the offense specifically who will be the trigger man for what has been a potent offense with Deshaun Watson at the controls.

Defensively, the Tigers could one of the best units in recent memory with the likes of Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence up front. Former News19 Player of the Week Marcus Edmond out of Lower Richland enters fall camp listed as a starter at one of the cornerback spots.

Blythewood's Greg Huegel is the two-year returning starter at kicker.
