Clemson, SC (WLTX) --- Any coach who is serious about competing at a national level knows that having first-class facilities is part of the formula for success.
Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney has benefitted from an upgrade in facilities, not the least of which is the brand new state-of-the-art indoor facility which has a $10 million price tag. The 80,000 square-foot building has been operational for 16 months.
When Swinney spoke at a "Will To Lead National Meeting", he talked about various aspects of a successful leader. In the context of talking about best being the standard, Swinney spoke at length about the need for a major upgrade of the student housing at Clemson.
"Listen, I drive around this campus. We have recruits come by all the time and we have so many buildings that need to be updated or torn down and start over," said Swinney.
"Our housing, I am gonna tell you is terrible. It is terrible. They need to take Thornhill and just blow it up. We call it Thornhood Village. That's what we call it. I am sure it was great in its day. You can only put so much paint on the wall. Its awful. What a great piece of real estate that is."
