Connor Shaw Eyes NFL

Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- After leading The University of South Carolina to a 27-5 record while being the starting quarterback, Connor Shaw has set his sights on making the jump to the NFL.

It seems like the right move for the Gamecocks' all-time leader in wins. After playing in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, Shaw has spent time training and getting ready for the NFL Combine.

"Pretty much two hours of quarterback drills, two hours of speed and agility and two hours in the weight room," Shaw said. "I need a little bit stronger of an arm. I think I'm pretty good as far as accuracy."

Listed at just six-feet tall, Shaw does not fit the mold of the NFL's pro-style quarterbacks. Shaw, like many quarterbacks of his stature, rely on their legs and athleticism to make up for their lack of height. With the transformation of someNFL offenses catering to quarterbacks like Shaw, he feels as if he has a shot at the next level.

"Guys like [Colin] Kaepernick and Russell Wilson have paved the way for me," Shaw explained.

Current draft projections have the Flowery Branch, GA native projected as high a 4th round pick and a low as an undrafted signee. Where he's selected is out of his control, but Shaw plans to give his all to whichever team signs him.

"The only thing I can control is my hard work," he said. "If someone picks me up, I'll make sure they made the right choice."
