COLUMBIA, SC - They haven't played each other in 24 years but this season South Carolina and Coastal Carolina will meet on the hardwood for the first of three meetings over the next three years.
CCU announced today that the Chanticleers and Gamecocks will renew the in-state battle. USC will host CCU on December 9th this year and next season.
USC will travel to Conway for the first time in the 2019-2020 season. The two teams split their first two meetings after facing off in 1989 and 1993.
The Chanticleers were a CBI team last season going 20-19 and 10-8 in the Sun Belt Conference. Their last trip to the NCAA tournament was in 2015 after winning the Sun Belt conference championship.
The Gamecocks are coming off a historic season after reaching the Final Four for the first time in program history after upsetting Duke and Florida along the way to the Final Four.
