George Rogers and Friends Hit The Course For A Great Cause

Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) --- One day after a gala and silent auction, the 23rd annual George Rogers Celebrity Golf Tournament brought a host of former athletes and coaches to help Big George raise money for his foundation.

Rogers and Hugh Green, the former Pitt Panther who finished second to George in the 1980 Heisman Trophy voting, held court at the Par 3 6th with Rogers who made sure to hit shots with every group in the field.

The George Rogers Foundation provides financial assistance to first generation college students. As the first member of his family to go to college, Rogers understands the challenges those families face and that is one of reasons the Foundation was created.
