USC Athletes Put Up Impressive Academic Numbers

Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- The USC athletics department did not waste any time announcing the cumulative grade point average for the spring as the combined GPA was above a 3.0 for the 15th straight semester.

USC sports posted a combined 3.22 grade point average in the spring, led by the women's tennis team with a 3.656.

The football team was solid with a 2.844.

Former high school math teacher Frank Martin saw his basketball tearn earn a combined 3.217 in spite of a busy spring. That is the highest mark put up by the men in Martin's two seasons at Carolina.

The women's basketball team was right there with a 3.185, in spite of an extended road trip to the West Coast for the NCAA Tournament.

More than 300 student-athletes earned GPAs above 3.0 for the spring with 59 posting a 4.0 GPA to earn spots on the President's List.
