USC Basketball Player Arrested After Fight in 5 Points

Rakym Felder was arrested over the weekend on multiple charges.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A University of South Carolina basketball player has been arrested and is facing multiple charges following a fight in Five Points.

Columbia Police say Felder was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a fight in in the 800 block of Harden Street. No other details were immediately available.

Online jail records show Rakym Felder was detained at the Richland County Jail. He's facing the following charges:

Disorderly / Public disorderly conduct
Assault / Simple assault and battery
Resisting arrest
Fail to stop on police command
Traffic / Pedestrian on controlled access highway
Traffic / Use of another's or altered license or identification card

The University of South Carolina's athletics department has a long-standing policy of suspending a student-athlete when they are arrested.

Felder is a freshman who's from Brooklyn, New York. However, he played his freshman year of high school at Indian Land High in Fort Mill.
