USC's George Rogers Excited To Give Back

The George Rogers Foundation will be helping students with an auction to help fund scholarships. USC Heisman winner George Rogers is looking forward to the 26th year of the event.

COLUMBIA, SC - South Carolina Heisman winner George Rogers will be kicking off this week with an event that will support aspiring college students.
Sunday night is the 26th Annual George Rogers Foundation of the Carolina's Silent/Live Auction event.
Former Gamecocks Marcus Lattimore, Darian Stewart will be in attendance as well as Heisman winner Herschel Walker and other stars.
"We got Herschel Walker coming in this year, one of the new guys coming in and also Ricky Jackson and Hugh Greene and some of the other guys will be here. It's a fun time for the people in South Carolina to come out and show their appreciation for having some of these guys come in," Rogers said.
Proceeds from this auction event go to scholarships for first generation students and support for nonprofit youth development organizations.
Other than football season Rogers always looks forward to this time of year.
"That's what's it's all about man giving people a chance.  I got my chance in football. They're going to have their chance in education," Rogers said. "But it's always good to get those kids in school to get their education especially for the ones that don't play football and basketball and stuff like that. Education is still important."
The auction event starts at 5 pm this Sunday at the Carolina Alumni Center. The George Rogers Celebrity Golf Classic is Monday morning at 9:30 am at the Fort Jackson Golf Course.
